Mare Performance Tests and Stallion Licensings in North America
Every year, Mare Performance Tests and Stallion Licensings are offered by the Oldenburg Horse Breeders' Society. To learn more about status achievement for mares, the Mare Performance Tests, and/or the rules for licensing and approving stallions, please read through the OHBS-GOV Rule Book. The locations and dates for 2012 will be announced in the spring of 2012 in the Inspection Tour Schedule which can be found on the Inspections page of this website under "Breeding" in the top menu. Once these dates and locations are posted, you can sign up for a Mare Performance Test by filling out the entry form and sending it to the Florida office: Click here for the Entry Form. If you are interested in presenting a stallion for licensing, please visit the Inspections section of this website and go to the Sign Up page to fill out a Stallion Registration Form. For more information on what will be expected of your stallion during the licensing, please contact Deputy Breeding Director Katrin Burger: Email: burger.katrin@oldenburger-pferde.com Phone: 011-49-4441-9355-95.

In 2011, four MPT's and four Stallion Licensings were held. The MPT's took place at Rideauwood Farm in Merrickville, Canada, Rolling Stone Farm in Slatington, PA, Crosiadore Farm in Trappe, MD, and Pollyrich Farm in Solvang, CA. The Stallion Licensings were held at High Point Hanoverians in Chestertown, MD, Crosiadore Farm in Trappe, MD, Royal Equus Farm in Austin, TX, and at Pollyrich Farms in CA. You can see the mares who were awarded with Special Premium or Verbands Premium on our 2011 Premium Page.

Oldenburg Horse Shows

The Oldenburg Horse Breeders' Society proudly introduced the Oldenburg Horse Shows in 2009. These shows are set up similarly to a breed show with many in-hand classes based on age and with some extra classes for Weser-Ems ponies and Hunters. There are also Under Saddle classes offered for young horses based on the young horse tests held in Germany.

The shows are always a lot of fun with either a barbeque lunch or an evening reception with talks given by members of the Oldenburg Verband about popular breeding topics. The results of each show are always posted on the News page of this website, and are written up into an article in the "Oldenburg Horse and Weser-Ems Pony" magazine that is sent out to members. In 2009 two shows were held; one was at High Point Hanoverians in Maryland and the other at Pollyrich Farms in California which was repeated again in 2010. Unfortunately, the shows will not be offered in 2011 due to the world economic situation and the Equine Herpes outbreak in the western region of the United States.

The OHBS is planning to have more shows in 2012 so check back next year for more information on the dates and locations!
