French Connection is Named the Top Mare of the
2007 Inspection Season!
-
- The mare being honored with the Cindy Bergmann award for the top
mare of inspection season is owned by Joyce Nugent of Carbondale Farms
in Iona, California. French Connection is sired by FBW French Kiss who
with rider, Katrin Burger, won the 2004 World Championships for the 6
year old dressage horses. French Connection’s mare line reads like a
who’s who of top dressage breeding. Her dam, Hope, is sired by the
Trakehner, Hohenstein and is out of the mare, Ribana (Rubinstein I x
Argunda (Argentan I)). Hohenstein comes from the well known Trakehner
line of Caprimond and Karon, and Ribana’s sire, Rubinstein I, who not
only in succeeding at the top levels of dressage himself, but by siring
Grand Prix Olympians such as Relevant and Renoir-Unicef as well as many
other top quality sport horses.
All of this top breeding led to a mare that has fantastic conformation,
and big elastic gaits. Her quiet character showed through making it clear
that she had that special quality which led to this prestigious award. We
congratulate Joyce Nugent and Carbondale Farms on a job well done, and we
wish the best for them and French Connection in the future. |
