JANUARY 2008 - FLORIO IS AWARDED THE ALAIN SEHEUT AWARD FOR BEST FOAL OF 2007   Florio is a fantastic colt bred by the legendary dressage rider/trainer/judge Hilda Gurney in partnership with Mary Contacos of California. He is sired by the World Champion and score record breaking Florencio (Florestan I x Walessa (Weltmeyer)), and is out of a fourth generation mare bred by Hilda Gurney, Livadia (Impressionist), who is out of the mare, Lavinia (Condus x Libella V (Siegbert)) who was successful at Grand Prix to the point of being long listed for the US Team. This is the inagural year for the Alain Seheut award which is given to the most outstanding foal of the inspection season so this is quite an honor for all involved.
